New Widget

We have a new widget that has been added to our sidebar. It gives us voicemail. You can record something for us and it goes to Mrs. K’s email where she can listen to it and share it with Room 4.

Please feel free to say something to us about our learning. We look forward to hearing what you have to say!

Many thanks to SpeakPipe for creating this tool.

Spiny Leaf Insects

Whoo-hoo, we have Spiny Leaf insects in our room. They are all female. They are strange insects who eat gum leaves. When they feel threatened, they sway just like a leaf. They are hoping a predator doesn’t see them!

We can hold them but we must be very gentle with them. We don’t want to hurt them!

Our Holidays

Here we are back with a new class for 2012!

Today we talked about the things we did during the holidays and you will see we did many intersesting things!

We used PrimaryWall to pin the activities we did during the Christmas break.

Did you do any of these things? Where did you go? What was your favourite thing to do?

Follow these links to our PrimaryWall to read what we did.

Mrs. K's hopes for the year.

The beginning of a new year is always filled with excitement, anticipation and sometimes even nerves… for the children, their parents and of course, me! I made this Storybird to share my thoughts and hopes for the 2012 school year. I hope you find time to view it, think about it and provide your feedback via a comment. Thank you. I’m looking forward to a great year.

Hopping Mice

Today I took the Hopping Mice home and put them in my laundry for the holidays. When it got a little dark in there and I put in some seed grass for them, the mice all came awake and had a lovely time running around the cage. If you have a look at the Tumblr you can watch them being very busy.

The Christmas Pageant

What a beautiful day it was yesterday for the Adelaide Christmas Pageant. The sun was shining and the streets were lined with lots of happy families.

Of course, the most exciting part was when Father Christmas made his appearance!

Now we know it’s not long until Christmas!

Did you go to the Pageant or did you watch it on T.V?

What did you think of it?

Are you busy preparing your wish list?

Let me know!

New Postcard

Thankyou Maia and your class from Coffs Harbour (in New South Wales) for your postcard. Mrs. Kolenberg loves Coffs Harbour! It is one of her favourite places.

It must be exciting having a jetty near your school. Do you go fishing very often?
