Dear Families,
This term we will be celebrating the Magic of Reading!
Craigburn Reading Olympics – Ready, Set, Read……..
Students are encouraged to read or listen to stories and record the minutes they spend reading.
The Readathon runs the duration of the Olympics, Friday 26th July – Sunday August 11th August. Reading logs need to be returned to your child’s class teacher on Monday August 12th.
Here’s How Students Participate:
- Choose Your Books: Read anything you love! Novels, picture books, graphic novels, information books, ebooks and magazines are fantastic choices. Listening to an Audiobook or a story read by an adult or older sibling is perfect!
- Track Your Reading: Use our special reading log to record the date, book title, and minutes read. Don’t forget to get an adult’s signature each time! Your child should bring home their reading log on Friday 26/7.
- Go for Gold: Aim to read as much as you can! Every page brings you closer to becoming a reading champion! There is the chance to win prizes, announced on Friday 16th August.
Please support and encourage your child to participate.
