It’s been wonderful to see our students, staff, and families return to school and smoothly settle in. Thank you once again for your ongoing support to our school community by keeping in touch through the weekly wrap and other posts on Craigburn Connections.
Green and Gold Day
A big thank you to Karen and our Year 6 Be Active Leaders for organising Friday’s Green and Gold Day, celebrating the Paris Olympic Games. The Opening Ceremony was a wonderful success, with the Be Active Leaders passing a Craigburn Olympic torch around the classes, capturing the excitement of the Games. It was fantastic to see students dressed in ‘Green and Gold’ or outfits representing their favourite Olympic sports or athletes. Thank you families for your support.
Over the next two weeks, students will participate in tasks and challenges led by our student ‘Be Active’ Leaders.
Year 3 Campers
We wish all our Year 3 campers an incredible experience at Nunyara Camp, Belair, on Tuesday and Wednesday. The overnight camp promises to be filled with fun, learning and adventure. Best wishes to everyone attending.
Parent Survey
Parents are invited to complete the 2024 annual Public Education Parent Survey. The 2024 parent survey opens mid to late July and closes midnight Sunday 8 September. During the survey window you will receive an email or SMS from the Parent Survey Team with a unique link to participate in the survey. If you have not received an email or SMS with your unique survey link by Friday 9 August 2024, please check your spam or junk folders. Otherwise, please contact education.ParentSurvey@sa.gov.au and include our school’s name in your email. A new survey will be sent to you.
The survey takes less than 10 minutes and will help us understand:
- what we’re doing well
- where we can improve
- what’s important to you.
It has been coordinated centrally so that added administration workload isn’t placed on the school. Your answers won’t identify you or your child. Only collated feedback will be provided to our school. Information collected will inform school improvement planning and activities at the school. The survey closes midnight Sunday 8 September.

Weekend Netball
Year 3/4 Craigburn Blue
Mitcham Primary School V Craigburn Blue 1-9 (win)
It was a fantastic first game back for the Craigburn Blue girls down the hill against Mitcham this morning. They were passing and defending the ball with so much confidence this morning. It has been great to see their progress each week and watch them have lots of fun out there as a team, always celebrating and supporting each other.
Coach – Emma
Year 5/6
The Y5/6 Netball girls faced a chilly early morning game against Edwardstown for the second time in a row this season after a long break. We didn’t walk away with a win this time, but we definitely improved with an amazing start in the first quarter, having gone down 23 – 7. We have a lot of unwell team members at the moment, and we are looking forward to them hopefully returning next week (rest up girls!). Special shout out to Lily M (Year 3) who has been coming out to support her big sister Sophie and the Y5/6 team this season. Today she made some special signs to help cheer the girls on! They looked AMAZING and definitely helped with morale!

This parent easy guide gives parents and carers practical tips for keeping their children and young people safe online. It includes information on developing a family technology plan, setting up safe use at home and helping children learn online safety skills. It also includes information on cyber bullying, social media use, online grooming as well as gaming.

School iPads
We are pleased to announce that our school will now provide a school-owned iPad for all students in Years 2 to 6. This means that if your child has been participating in our BYO iPad program, they will no longer need to bring their own device to school.
Please note that the school-owned iPads will stay at school and will not be taken home at this stage.
This change is designed to create a safer and more controlled digital learning environment, ensuring that all students have reliable access to the resources they need while enhancing their overall learning experience.
