Exciting New Wellbeing Program at Craigburn Primary School: URSTRONG

At Craigburn Primary School, we are committed to nurturing not just the academic, but also the social and emotional wellbeing of our students.Helping children build strong, positive relationships is more important than ever and is central to our school vision – ‘For all students to belong, learn and grow within a supportive learning community to become confident young people with a positive identity who contribute to their world.’

That’s why we are excited to announce the launch of URSTRONG, a whole-school wellbeing program focused on friendship skills.

Why Are We Implementing URSTRONG?
Friendships play a vital role in the development and happiness of our children. Understanding how to form and maintain healthy friendships can lead to increased confidence, better communication skills, and overall emotional wellbeing. URSTRONG offers a proactive approach to friendship education, giving students the tools they need to navigate relationships and resolve conflicts positively.

What is URSTRONG?
URSTRONG, through its Friendology 101 curriculum, provides a fun and relatable way for children to learn about friendships. By teaching kids how to manage their social world, it empowers them to handle challenges independently and fosters a supportive community within the school.

Teachers have already undertaken a series of workshops and trialled lessons with their students.

How Does It Work?
The URSTRONG program involves everyone—students, teachers, and parents. By working together, our aim is to create an environment where children feel safe and supported.

The program helps students develop resilience, empathy, and kindness, which are essential skills for life.

Parents, We Need You!
For URSTRONG to thrive in our school community, parent and family involvement is crucial.

All families are offered free membership to URSTRONG, which includes access to an 8-session video series and many other resources. This will help you understand and use the same strategies and language your children are learning in school, allowing you to support them at home effectively.
