Friendology – Inner Ninja

Friendology – Inner Ninja

We are excited to have launched the URSTRONG program last week—a whole-school wellbeing initiative designed to build strong friendship skills among our students.

Our students enjoyed discovering their ‘Inner Ninja’ as they learned that healthy friendships begin with treating themselves like their own best friend. This important idea, known as self-compassion, teaches our kids to value the friendship they have with themselves.

Throughout the week, students worked on:

  • boosting their self-compassion
  • calming their nerves when faced with big emotions
  • naming and accepting their wide range of feelings
  • challenging any Automatic Negative Thoughts (ANTs),
  • and tapping into their unique strengths to become their own best friend.

The excitement and energy have been amazing! Our classrooms have been buzzing with students diving into the URSTRONG experience, exploring new ideas, and soaking up valuable lessons about friendship. Take a look at the photos we’ve shared, showcasing the incredible engagement and learning happening in our school.

Parent Membership

We would like to remind parents that you have free access to a URSTRONG parent membership, which includes hundreds of resources, like an 8-session video series. This will help you learn the same language and strategies your children are practising in the classroom with the Friendology 101 curriculum.

Here’s how you can join us:

As we kick off this program, we encourage all parents to watch the “Language of Friendship Introduction Video and Session 1: Connecting with the Real You” available in the parent membership section of the website. Then, have a chat with your child about what they learned in Lesson 1.

Free Online Parent Workshop

All families are invited to join a free online parent webinar scheduled for Wednesday evening, 6.00pm 21st August.

This interactive session, presented by Tyson Greenwood from URSTRONG, will provide valuable insights into the URSTRONG program and offer practical tips for supporting your child’s friendship skills at home.

Tyson will cover key strategies from the Friendology 101 curriculum and answer any questions you might have.

This is a wonderful opportunity to deepen your understanding of the friendship skills your child is learning in school.

We’d be thrilled to have you join in for this informative and engaging event.
