The Weekly Wrap – Term 4 Week 2 – 2024

World Teachers Day – Friday 25th October

On the last Friday of October, Australia celebrates World Teachers’ Day—an opportunity to recognise and show gratitude to the teachers who shape our lives. Teachers play a vital role in our school community, providing invaluable support to students and families throughout the year.

As we celebrate World Teachers’ Day this Friday, we encourage students and families to take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate their efforts. A simple message of thanks can truly make a teacher’s day.

Bushfire Response Plan

Last Wednesday we practised our Bushfire Response Procedures which involved all students and school personnel moving to our designated shelter, being the school hall / gym.

We encourage families to read through the Bushfire Response post, which outlines our school’s response in the event of a Catastrophic Fire Danger day declared in the Mt Lofty Region and / or a bushfire approaching the school.

Our response ensures what action we need to take on days of increased fire danger or in the event of a potential or actual bushfire threat. The bushfire response plan also assists the Department’s Security and Emergency Management (SEM) unit in providing emergency services key information regarding the location of students and staff during a bushfire emergency.

Celebration Wrappers – Due this Friday

Craigburn Primary students have the opportunity to design their own chocolate bar wrapper along the theme of ‘Celebration’.  Read more here.

Friends and family will vote via a survey for their favourite design out of the top 10 for each year level. The 3 from each year level with the most votes will then be voted on by the year level teachers. The winner for each year level will be used to wrap real chocolate bars and sold at the Celebration Night at the school on Monday 9 December 2024.

An email will be sent out on how to vote closer to the time.
