On Friday 2nd November our class visited the Art Gallery for an excursion along with Room A3 and A4. We went to the Art Gallery as it linked in with our current unit of inquiry ‘The World is a Stage’ which is about different types of art and how they tell a story or the artist is sending a message . During our time at the Art Gallery we were involved in 3 sessions. Our first session was a guided tour of the John Mawurndjul: I am the old and the new exhibition. For our second session we spilt into small groups and did a self guided tour of the permanent collection including the DAALDER collection and Chiharu Shiota displays. After lunch we finished off the day with a workshop. Students got to do some printing on material and drawing of things in the Australian natural environment. Everyone had a fantastic time!
