Over the last few weeks we have investigated how to make models, used different design techniques, developed our model making skills like cutting, joining, choosing suitable materials for a specific task and reflected on our designs/models and the ways we have made them.
The final assessment task was to design an object/model that can help us in our everyday lives. Students needed to draw a design of the mode, list the materials that will be needed to create the model and write a procedure to show how the model will be made. Finally students had a go at making their model and then gave a short presentation to the class explaining what was made and how it helps our everyday lives.
Here are the final models/creations. Some very interesting ideas and things that would definitely help us in our everyday lives! We also shared our models at the Year 2/3/4 Assembly this week.
