Origami

Origami, the art of making beautiful creations out of paper. This was our Show and Tell for the week. Some children made really very creative designs. We were able to make some of them as well!  Thanks for all your hard work everyone. Click on this link for a good site to make origami. The easy origami has great creations for the Early Years.

  1. I love all the origami creations you made!
I have trouble following the directions – I’m never exactly sure which way to fold.
I think you have all done an excellent job – keep up the amazing work room 4!

  2. Hi Everyone,
I’ve loved looking at your origami work. Some of them look very tricky to make. Did you teach others in your class to make them all or just some of them?
I’ll have to come over and have a look in your room.

  3. Your origami is wonderful. Did you know there is a statue in Hiroshima Japan called the Children’s Peace Monument. People make origami cranes (birds) and leave them there. The history is that if you make 1000 cranes, you will be granted one wish. I saw it when I was in Japan when i was a teenager, there were 1 million little origami cranes hanging underneath the statue. I wonder how many people made 1000 each? I hope they got their wishes.

  4. To Mrs. K and First Graders (that is how we say grade 1’s at our school), we really love your origami projects. How neat! You all did a very nice job. We would love to try to make them. We noticed that your school is R-7. What does the R stand for? We are so excited to see what you are learning in your class.

    • Hi Tessa. Origami is folding paper to make lots of different things. Some of them can be a bit tricky but we usually choose the easy ones to do. The website that’s on our post has some great Origami to do that is quite easy. Maybe you could do some in your school holidays? Thank you for visiting our blog.
