The main focus this term is working with measurement. We are looking at measuring length, mass, capacity, volume, area and time. Students will learn to compare different measurements. They will work with days of the week, months of the year and seasons. We will be learning to read calendars and work out problems using them. Students will learn to record and tell the time in analogue and digital times for o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to. We will finish the term with work on chance and data. Students will learn to record data in graphs and use language to predict everyday events.



This term students will be working on 2D and 3D shapes. They will learn how to describe the properties of different shapes. Students



This term we are learning all about number. We are looking at sequencing numbers and being able to describe and continue patterns using objects and numbers. We are starting off with some skip counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s starting from zero and then from any other number. We will be working on addition and subtraction and using a variety of strategies to solve problems. We will also be working on place value and number beyond 100.

      There are many different website links under the ‘Just for Fun’ section of the blog. Here is the one I was talking about in the class newsletter this week. We have been using the place value games. It is a great website!
