It was wonderful to see students and classes coming together to celebrate Harmony Day / Week to promote inclusion and celebrate cultural diversity within our community. Special thanks to Mrs McKay, Frau Smith and our SRC leaders for organising and running an excellent assembly.
To Note
Swimming Week
As per the email sent out Friday, the Swimming Week times have been updated – details here.
Early Dismissals
We are guided by the Department’s Early Dismissal procedure to dismiss students (who have parental consent), 1 hour prior to normal dismissal on the following occasions.
- on the last day of each school term
- on a school sports day
- the day before the Easter holiday break
Due to the number of students attending swimming lessons and Sapsasa Athletics on Thursday, and not returning to school until late on the day, there will not be an early dismissal on Thursday (before Easter). However, 1 hour early dismissals will occur on:
- Sports Day, Friday 5th April and,
- the last day of term 1, Friday 12th April.
Easter Raffle
Thank you to the families who have donated to our annual Easter raffle, which will be drawn on Thursday 28th March. We continue to welcome donations for the raffle and ask that these are dropped to the front office by Wednesday 27th March. Extra raffle tickets can be picked up from the front office.
Student-Led Conferences
A reminder that student-led conferences begin next week after the Easter long weekend. Please follow the steps outlined in the student-led conferences post to book a conference time with your child/ren’s teacher/s.
Gastro Cases
A number of Gastroenteritis cases have been reported within our school community. We ask families to refer to the advice from SA Health and monitor your child for any symptoms. Please note, the infectious period for Viral Gastroenteritis is during illness and for at least 24 hours after symptoms have disappeared.
Sports Day
Sports Day is not far away – scheduled on Friday 5th April. Our Be Active Leaders in Year 6 have been busy working closely with our sports teacher, Mrs Pettman, to take the lead in organising the health hustle and team chants.
As always, we appreciate families and friends taking the time to join us on the day for lots of fun and excitement. We also encourage parents to help out on the day with the sausage sizzle and cake stall. Please contact the front office if you can help out for 30min or so.
Sports Day information and the program booklet can now be accessed here. A useful idea is to download the PDF booklet on your mobile device for easy access on the day.
Thank you to our PE teacher, Karen Pettman, for coordinating the Day, which we are sure will be an enjoyable event for our community. Please note, the early dismissal time of 2.10pm.
Car Parking
In the lead up to Sports Day, we remind all parents, carers and extended families and friends of the importance of road safety and parking around the school. We also remind everyone that Rangers from the local council visit schools at random times to check that parking regulations are adhered to on occasions such as sports days. A reminder too, that car parking by parents is not permitted on school grounds unless needing to use the disabled parking space or in an emergency. Thank you for your support.
