Swimming Lessons – Years 3-5 – Updated

Update – Friday 22 March 2024

Swimming Week begins on Monday 25th March for students in Years 3-5 at the SA Aquatic Centre, Marion – running through to Thursday 28th May – as per the following updated schedule.

Due to a booking error at the SA Aquatic Centre Marion, we have had to slightly adjust the times for swimming sessions that are taking place next week (Week 9) for the Years 3-5.

Please note the amended times below:

B13 & C14: 9:30am – 10:45am. Departing school at 9:00am, returning approx. 11:20.

C15 & C16: 10:45am – 12:00pm. Departing school at 10:10am, returning approx. 12:40pm.

C17 & B11: 12:30pm to 13:45pm. Departing school at 11:55am, returning approx. 2:20pm

Items to take:

  • A light bag to pack belongings
  • School jumper
  • Brush/comb
  • Towel
  • Water bottle
  • School hat
  • Footwear – slides / thongs
  • Underwear
  • Plastic bag for wet clothes
  • Goggles

Please note:

  • All items to be clearly labelled with the student’s name.
  • Valuables are not to be taken to swimming, e.g. mobile phones, money, jewellery etc.
  • Students will need to wear their bathers under their school uniform each day.
  • Students will need to wear normal footwear when arriving at school and will be able to change into their swimming footwear before leaving for their swimming lesson. (except B13 and C14 may wear thongs to school as they are the first group to leave.
  • Photos of students are not to be taken at the pool.

We will be operating under the swimming centre guidelines, which include:

  • Parents who may wish to watch their children’s swimming lessons are able to visit the swimming centre – Reminder, no videos or photos are to be taken.
  • Using the “Get In, Participate, Get Out” procedure, which means students will:
    • Arrive at the centre in bathers, dressing gown /oodie or windcheater etc, thongs or slip on shoes, towel and goggles.
    • Participate – Get out of the pool, go to the change rooms, dry themselves, get dressed and wait to board the bus.
