As required by the department, the Governing Council has reviewed the Materials and Services (M and S) Charge for the 2025 school year and recommends maintaining the Charge at $460, consistent with last year.
The M and S Charge contributes to the cost of essential items and services used or consumed by individual students during their learning. This includes printed and electronic materials, access to books, stationery supplies, curriculum materials, and printing and copying for educational programs, as well as library and information technology resources.
Additionally, the M and S Charge covers the costs associated with several school incursions, including Footsteps, Book Week, and Performing Arts events.
As announced in the 2024-25 State Budget, the Materials and Services Charge rebate for the 2025 school year has increased to $200 per student.
We believe that the annual M and S Charge offers excellent value at just over $11 per student per school week.
The amount and composition of the M and S Charge for 2025 are outlined below.
Parents and caregivers are invited to a public meeting to approve the Materials and Services Charge for the upcoming school year.
