The Weekly Wrap – Term 3 Week 6 – 2024

We hope everyone had a restful weekend after an incredible Book Week!

A huge thank you to Krysten and Emily for their outstanding work in bringing the library to life with engaging activities and decorations. Their dedication truly made the week special for our students.

The Dress-Up Day Parade on Friday was a particular highlight, and it was wonderful to see so much creativity and enthusiasm. Thanks to all families who helped make the day a memorable experience. Special thanks to Evie and Lachie for their exceptional role as comperes – their efforts truly added an extra layer of excellence to the parade.

A sincere thank you too, to parent Denes Nagy, for his expertise in running the artist workshops in our library as part of Book Week celebrations. We greatly appreciated Denes volunteering his time to make the artist workshops special for our students. The students were engaged in the sessions and expressed how much they enjoyed learning from Denes.

A reminder that the Scholastic Book Fair continues in the Library until Tuesday. Please check in with the Book Fair post for full details. The entrance to the Book Fair is via the side door of the library opposite the year one classrooms. We look forward to you visiting us if you haven’t already done so.

Father’s Day – Gift Stall and Breakfast

We’re excited to celebrate Father’s Day with two special events at Craigburn Primary School!

Father’s Day Stall
Wednesday, 28 August 2024
Our Father’s Day Stall will be open, offering a wonderful selection of gifts priced between $1.00 and $5.00. This is a great opportunity for students to choose something special for their dads or another significant person in their life. We recommend sending your child with no more than $10.00 to spend.

Volunteers Needed: We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help run the stall. If you’re interested, please reach out to the front office.

Father’s Day Breakfast
Friday, 30 August 2024 | 8:00 am
Join us for a delicious Father’s Day Breakfast hosted by our Friends of Craigburn team. Sweet and savoury muffins will be available for purchase via Qkr! Be sure to place your orders by Tuesday, 27 August at 3:00 pm.

We understand that not all children have a father, and we encourage them to participate by celebrating any special person in their life—be it a grandfather, uncle, or family friend.

For more information, please check out the Father’s Day Post and flyers sent home. We look forward to celebrating with you.

Netball

Year 3/4

Mitcham V Craigburn 3/4 Team (7-14)

We were back down the hill at Mitcham for our penultimate game this beautiful sunny morning. The energy on the court was high and we really saw the girls taking lots of chances and creating goal opportunities with their well thought out passes. Lots of goals scored from all of the shooters on the court today, well done team on another great game!

Netball Year 5/6

It was a glorious sunny Saturday morning for the Y5/6 netball, with Craigburn defeating Coromandel Valley in an amazing nail biter of a home game, 13 – 9. The girls had a tight defence in the centre and a solid attack, which saw them overtake the score with 7 goals in the final quarter to take the win! The girls should be commended for their dedication at training; implementing new skills in each game and working as a cohesive team. They have improved tremendously since the beginning of the season and we are so proud of them!

Coaches – Annika and Karen
