It’s hard to believe it’s the last term already!
I can’t wait to see what fun things we will do this term. I’m sure it will go very quickly!

This week our Show and Tell topic was to prepare clues about a story book character and have the class guess who we were. We could dress up as that character if we wanted to. It was wonderful to see so many characters and we really enjoyed guessing who they were!

This week our Show and Tell Topic was to make an acrostic poem using the letters in our name. What a lot of interesting words were chosen. Energetic, Active, Loving, Artistic were very popular. The children enjoyed sharing their work with the class and it was fun to hear the words that were chosen.

I have found the biggest bookshop I’ve ever seen at Eumundi. It has new and old books and even rare books selling for up to $2,000! It was a place where you could sit and read and marvel. It got me thinking about how I might spend the voucher you gave me.

This week for Show and Tell the children have to talk to us about their favourite website. It needs to be appropriate and if it is a site that we can learn from that would be a bonus!
The children must search for the site, demonstrate to us what is on the site and talk to us about why it is their favourite site.

This week our Show and Tell is about our favourite Story Books. We used our i-pads to record our voices on AudioBoo. AudioBoo also lets you add a photo.

This week our topic for Show and Tell was… Junior Master Chef.
Here are the things the children had to consider:
Do you like to cook? Talk about something you’ve made in the kitchen. You may like to bring some photos of you cooking or even a mini taste test for our class judges! Make sure you are able to discuss the steps involved in your recipe.
Well, what a fantastic success it was! We have sampled absolutely delicious food ALL week! There was such a variety of tastes and sensations. As judges we gave our thoughts on taste, texture, sweetness, crunchiness, preparation etc. Then we had the very hard task of giving a score. Everyone got a 10 because the creations were all fabulous! Many thanks to the great parents who were chef assistants!
Room 4 don’t forget that next week your Show and Tell is to interview a family member about what life was like when they were young. I am sure they have some great stories about their childhood!
Here is a list of possible questions you could ask them:
When and where were you born?
How many brothers and sisters did you have?
What sort of house did you live in when you were a child?
What types of games did you like playing?
Did you like going to school?
What is the best thing you remember about your childhood?
Did you go on many holidays? Where did you usually go?
Room 4 had a very important job to do today. We ran the Assembly for the Reception and Year One classes.
We had to work out what we were going to say and then practice our speeches so that we could speak confidently into the tmicrophone.
The childen were fantastic!! They all did a wonderful job. The audience could hear them and everyone spoke so well.
We watched the other classes share their learning and it was fun to sing some great songs.
Congratulations to Frank, Kelton and Clara for receiving an assembly award.
