Global Walking Challenge

Today we started our Global Walking Challenge. Everyone in our class is wearing a pedometer and we count the steps we make everyday. We are trying to walk our way around the world. Out team’s name is Sporny’s Super Stars!!
Each night we record our steps for the day in our log book. In the morning we log onto the website and enter our steps. The website then works out an average distance for our class and we move around the world.
We are starting in Palm Island – off the coast of Queensland, then move up the Great Barrier Reef and then will board a sea plane to continue our travels.
Everyone was SO excited this morning and we did lots of exercise during the day. We started with Footsteps dance, then worked outdoors with our Garden Buddies Project and then had Play outdoors.

Check out the website for the Global Walking Challenge for Juniors.
We’d love to hear how you are exercising.
What do you think of our Global Challenge?

    • Hi Jessica
Thanks for your email – we love to get feedback to our class blog. We’ve been busy trying to increase our steps for the walking challenge- we’re having so much fun with it!! The class is driving Miss Sporn crazy – whenever she talks to the children they’re walking on the spot trying to increase their steps. Maybe we can do a walking challenge with your class to keep our steps up!!
Keep walking – from Miss Sporn’s class

  1. Hey Mr Lemmey,
Thanks for your feedback. Ella made a great start to the challenge – she got around 26000 steps on the first day. We did heaps of exercise at school and then Ella went to calisthenics and then did more exercise! But you’ve given us a big challenge and something to aim for. Miss Hunt’s class the Hunters are doing really well and are leading for our school.
    Thanks
    Miss Sporn’s class
