Craigburn’s Got Talent Final

Today we held our annual Craigburn’s Got Talent Final. It’s one of the major highlights for our school year.

Here are all of the finalists.

Through the auditions there were over 80 different acts vying to make the final. We were pleased to see that our class had to groups make the Final.

One item was a dance by Amity, Emma and Natalia and they performed a dynamic and amazing dance. The audience just loved it!

The second item from our class was JC Pads – Jesse and Cooper created and performed a great musical item using the Super Pads app on their iPads.

Everyone who performed today should be very proud of their efforts. They were very brave to perform their item – we had lots of variety. There were dances, singing, Super Pad music, gymnastics, violin and piano performances…just to name a few!

We’d like to congratulate all of the winners – what a fantastic achievement.

These are the performers from today’s show.

Here are the clips from the dance item and Super Pad item.

Today we held our annual Craigburn’s Got Talent event. This is one of our school’s favourite events of the entire year.

About 3 weeks ago we held R-7 auditions and today was the day our finalists got to show us their talents.

We had a very special guest attend – Mrs Nan Johnston. She was the first person to start Craigburn’s Got Talent many years ago.

We had 16 items performed today – many dances, singing, musical instruments played…just to name a few. They were all highly entertaining and the crowd really loved their items.

Our class was lucky enough to have 2 finalists. Evie performed a solo dance and the crowd just loved it. She danced so confidently and knew lots of amazing dance moves. The other item was by Lucas, Ethan F and Isaac. They performed a song by Bruno Mars called Uptown Funk and we all LOVED it too. The audience loved the group’s performance – they knew all of the lyrics to the song, had some great dance moves and Isaac was fantastic on guitar (nice knee slides too).

These 2 items tied for 3rd place – what a fantastic achievement. Congratulations.

Today’s event really proves just how much talent we do have at Craigburn Primary. We can’t wait for next year.

Craigburn’s Got Talent

Today we held our annual Craigburn’s Got Talent show. This is an Reception to Year 7 event and gives every student the chance to audition and maybe make the final. Over the last few weeks we’ve been holding auditions for each year level and came up with a final show of 16 items.

WOW! What an amazing show it was. We had DJ’s pumping out the beat, dancers, ballet dancing to piano music, a piano item, many individual and group dance items, a magic show…..the list goes on!

Today’s Craigburn’s Got Talent was another show stopper. It’s one of our favourite days of the year because we love to watch so many of Craigburn’s students show their magical, singing, musical or dancing skills. Over the last few weeks Mrs Rayner has been running the try outs for any students who wanted to perform. She has been working very closely with some of the Year 6/7 students to watch and judge their performances.

Today’s final showed just how talented Craigburn children really are!

We saw students perform many different acts. Some were playing the violin, break dancing, magical card tricks, playing the piano, playing the piano and singing, playing the drums, dance items, telling jokes, playing the flute, playing the guitar and singing, playing the saxophone, performing the cup song, dancing to a mash up of songs and singing duets.

A huge thank you to Mrs Rayner for running all the trials and organising today’s performances – it’s a huge effort!

James from our class played the drums and we all loved his performance especially.

We’d like to congratulate everyone who tried out for Craigburn’s Got Talent and especially those who made the finals.

Congratulations to Ashlyn and Jack who came first today! Well done – it was a wonderful duet!!

Check out today’s photos and you’ll see just why we love Craigburn’s Got Talent so much.

What part of Craigburn’s Got Talent did you enjoy the most?

Craigburn’s Got Talent

Today we held the finals of our Craigburn’s Got Talent performances and WOW the children at Craigburn really DO have a lot of talent!!

CONGRATULATIONS to Ethan for winning the Craigy for 2012.

Ethan performed a song on the saxaphone.

He is a Year 3 in the classroom nextdoor to us.

Here’s a photo of Ethan as he receives the Craigy trophy.

Two weeks ago Mrs Rayner started to hold the try outs for each class. We had lots of students prepare and organise their performances for our try outs on Tuesday. After a long week of performances from all Reception to Year 7 students the finalists were announced.

There was a great variety of acts that made the finals – solo singers, group songs and dances, skipping, dances, hip hop dance, musical instruments being played and so many more.

Our class had four different groups make the final.

Lachlan played his drums and sang Come Together by the Beatles.

Lucy and Sarah sang and danced to a song.

Emma, Jenny and Hannah sang and danced to a One Direction song.

Samuel sang a song.

We’d like to say congratulations to all of the students who were brave enough to organise and prepare an item for Craigburn’s Got Talent. It takes a lot of courage and confidence to perform in front of an audience of around 600 people.

The judges found it really difficult to make a final decision as there can only be one winner of the Craigy trophy.  There were lots of ties for the second and third positions – well done to everyone!
